Patient story: "Trust is give and take"

"In the old ward where I stayed after my accident, there was a lot of light in the rooms. Too much light. It gave me a headache. The curtain barely kept out the sun. To remedy that, the nurses hung an extra sheet. That helped. Moments later, someone made a drawing on the sheet. Someone else saw that and wrote something on it. After a few days, the sheet was full of drawings and texts. I thought that was super fun, such a personalized curtain. Although it has been many years now, I have always kept that sheet. I can't get it over my heart to throw it away. It meant so much to me."
